Ranno can’t talk too long before alluding to his family, which includes his wife, 13 year old Dylan and 10-year old Grace. “We are hardcore devoted San Francisco Giant fans,” he said. Not so hard to do in 2010 and 2012 when they were the World Champions, but a little more challenging as they struggled through 2013. “We are with them through thick and thin,” he said.
Doug hails from Sacramento where he graduated from Cal State Sacramento and joined the region’s top supermarket, Raley’s, as his first career stop. A dozen years later, he left the buy side of the fresh produce business to join Chiquita, where he stayed for eight years working in a variety of positions in several different geographic locations including Cincinnati and Los Angeles. Green Giant in Idaho was his next stop before going back to retail for a position with Wild Oats in Colorado. A few years passed which brought Doug back to California, Salinas and the starting of a new company, Colorful Harvest.
