Raspberries

History

The black raspberry is from North America, and the red raspberry if from Asia Minor and grown in Europe.

Today

The red raspberry is grown in the United States, because it is more cold-tolerant, less prone to diseases, and higher yielding. Black raspberries are usually grown in home gardens or small retail farms. Purple and yellow raspberries have small production.
