Kiwifruit has almost twice the Vitamin C of an orange. Two medium kiwifruits provides about 230% of the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowance.
Kiwifruit juice contains actinidin, a meat-tenderizing enzyme, and can be used in meat marinades.
Kiwifruit was originally called the Chinese Gooseberry.
