    Lettuce is harvested year-round in California, and from October through June in Arizona.

    Storage

    Do not store lettuce with bananas or apples. The ethylene gas they leech as they ripen will wilt your lettuce.

  • Did you know Iceberg lettuce got its name because growers used to pack it with crushed ice to ship?
  • Lettuce is a member of the sunflower family.
