Eating More Fruits, Vegetables and Nuts May Lower Your Risk of Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, eating lots of fruits and vegetables can help reduce your risk of cancer.

Foods high in quercetin, like apples, onions, garlic, peppers, grapes and tomatoes may slow the reproduction of prostate cancer cells.

Flavinoids, like flavinols and kaempferols, may lower risk of breast and ovarian cancers respectively. Foods high in flavinoids include broccoli, red apples, red cabbage, red grapes and yellow onions.

The vitamin E in walnuts may slow the growth of cancer cells.
