About Carol

A city girl from the San Francisco Bay Area, who married into farming when she and Bill Chandler tied the knot in 1966. Their two sons are fourth generation farmers.

She is committed to the business for the long haul. “The way our farm will thrive is both by passing on the fundamentals to the next generation and implementing the next generation’s tools and ideas. Bill’s father ran the business ‘in long hand.’ Bill and I use a little long-hand as well as computers. Our sons will surely take the technology of Chandler Farms, LP to next level.

Rural Life

Does she miss the city life? “No. I certainly get an opportunity to enjoy many cities as I engage in my board work, but there’s something about being close to nature, here in Fresno: horses, dogs, chickens … the earth. It is very life-affirming.”
